Update from the GC
We hope you and your family are doing well during this strange and difficult time. If you need assistance, please contact the committee and we will be happy to try to help.
At our e-committee meeting last month, we had no choice but to close the sailing club and it is difficult to say when this situation may change. Once things are clearer, we will come up with a plan. We are keeping up-to-date on the advice available.
The GC will hold their next virtual meeting on 5th May. Included on the agenda will be a discussion on lockdown and how we can quickly respond to the latest advice to ensure sailing can start again as soon as allowed.
We will also be considering membership subscriptions and how we might try to compensate members for loss of sailing. Following this, we will provide you with an update via the newsletter.
Of course, some of you have continued to race each week in line with the programme, but from the comfort of your armchairs. No getting cold and wet, although we have heard that some are still dressing in their sailing kit! We would like to thank James Willcocks and Christine Slater for their sterling efforts in organising the e-racing. Results so far, and information on how to join in, are available on the website.
