Select your own duty rostering

Further to the posting in November, plenty of members have put their names against dates in the 2018 programme.  For those that have done so, thank you.  For those that are still yet to do that, please get down to the club ASAP and record your preferences.

You will still find the provisional programme pinned to the noticeboard upstairs in the clubhouse.  There is space to add your name alongside the events.  Please write your name on the chart against 4 dates.  Why not sort out your diary and bring it with you when you come down to help with the winter working parties this weekend?

The sooner you get your bid in, the more likely to be successful you are with the dates that you want.  If you are not going to get down to the club in the next couple of weeks, then please write directly to mike@chorltons.com with your duty roster preferences.  People who write on the chart in the clubhouse will get first refusal on their choices.  If you really aren't going to make it to the club anytime in the next couple of months, please provide 6 possible dates to give us more scope to avoid clashes.  See attached for the provisional programme.

New 2017 members – So far, all the rescue cover, etc has been provided without you having to worry about that side of getting on the water.  The 2018 season will be your first chance to make your contributions to the smooth running of the club.  Later this month, you will be requested to attend rescue boat and OOD training so you will be better equipped to assist in those areas.  In the meantime, please do identify dates that you would prefer to do your bit.  If you want to be rescue boat crew, please do not choose dates before June 2018.  However, offering yourself for galley duty presents a very useful opportunity for meeting and getting to know fellow club members, so feel free to choose galley duty dates as early in the season as you like.
