Training Saints
Adventure Under Sail

Good afternoon,

I work for the charity Adventure Under Sail where we operate the tall ship Pelican as a sail training vessel for people with little or no previous sailing experience. Our aim is to make the training we offer accessible to as many young people as possible. We are looking forward to returning to Milford Haven for Seafair Haven this month and to sailing along the beautiful coastline of Pembrokeshire.

The organisers of Seafair Haven have secured some funding with would act as bursaries for young people (ages 15 - 25) worth £200 per person for up to 15 young people. This could enable young people from your organisation to participate in a short training voyage from Milford Haven to Falmouth, 15th - 17th June. Participants will need to contribute just £50 themselves, and write a short letter or email explaining why they'd like to take part in this experience and what they'd like to achieve from it. Sail training is the acquisition of skills for personal and professional development through the medium of sailing. Young people who sail with us typically gain skills such as teamwork, leadership, personal challenge, motivation, self-discipline and time-management - to name but a few. This is a great addition to their CV or FE application. I hope this is something which might interest your organisation and hope to hear from you soon.

Best wishes, Becky. Becky Simmons Marketing Manager Adventure Under Sail
